Ashikin is a law diploma holder with prior experience in litigation and conveyancing. Skilled in handling high-pressure situations with clear and effective communication, Ashikin is able to work both independently, as well as part of a team.
Ashikin supports the firm’s trademark and design practitioners by performing various administrative and formality duties in the day-to-day management of trademark and design portfolios.
Her primary responsibilities encompass the formalities aspect of preparing, processing and prosecuting trademark and design applications in Malaysia and abroad, which includes:
- Preparing all types of patent-related documents and forms, as well as correspondence
- Preparing and filing formal documents required for patent application and prosecution in Malaysia and foreign jurisdictions
- Liaising with the patent Registry officers on any arising matter, as well as monitoring status of the firm’s patent portfolio
- Managing and assisting the firm’s patent practice prosecution dockets
- Managing prosecution files
- Monitoring and handling patent annuities
When out of office, Ashikin spends time practicing her swing at the golf driving range, while also engaging in pickleball as an activity to stay socially active.
