We are pleased to announce the introduction of post-grant opposition mechanism for patents in Malaysia, effective 31 December 2025.

The Malaysian Intellectual Property Office (MyIPO) has implemented a Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot program with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) for a period of 2 years, i.e. from 18 January 2025 to 18 January 2027.

The Copyright (Amendment) Act 2022, which impacted five areas, namely: Marrakesh Treaty, voluntary notification, streaming technology, collective management organisation, and enforcement power, came into force in Malaysia on 18 March 2022.
