Afiqah, who hails from the northern state of Kedah, Malaysia, provides advanced secretarial and administrative support services to her colleagues, particularly in the area of IP and general administration.

Her essential responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating administrative tasks across the company’s operational and financial departments to preserve efficiency and adherence to corporate policy
  • Organizing document and archival systems, digitising, labelling, sorting, and categorizing documents for ease of use and retrieval
  • Reviewing, revising and proofreading of outgoing documents and correspondences before they are put into final form to ensure consistency and adherence to policy
  • Assisting in IP administration task, including filing with the MyIPO and serving of documents, updating the firm’s dockets, monitoring and handling patent, trademark and industrial design annuities
  • Managing and recording incoming and outgoing documents, e-mails and other forms of correspondences
  • Managing all other legal and administrative tasks as requested, including, preparation of audit letter responses, billable time input, expense reports and client billing statements
  • Supervising other support staffs in the administration of the company’s accounting system, mailing system and record management system to ensure continuous and seamless operation
  • Providing support in bookkeeping and budgeting procedures for the company

Afiqah’s interest includes reading novels, whipping up new recipes and travelling to experience new culture and meet new people.
